Red wine rearranges my face. My mouth feels a certain metallic tartness. My cheeks blush. My nose flushes red as the American red wine I taste – a sure sign of tannins and sulfites that do not agree with me. I love wine. I’ve often wished I could sweep those side effects away and taste what the winemaker intended. And now my wishes have come true.
European wines use less additives (Sulfites) than American vintners. As a result, I think their wines taste better. Or is it the atmosphere surrounding the tasting experience that makes me assume the better?
I decided to experiment with wine purifiers that capture the sulfites and reveal the true scent and taste of red wines in particular. Inviting several friends to two different wine tasting parties, they unanimously agreed that the Üllo Wine Purifier worked the best – aerating the wine, removing the additives and revealing the best flavors of the bottle.
The flavor of the wine altered as the sulfites filtered out – better, smoother, less tannic even. As a result, my face, once aflame after just a few sips, lost its redness and enabled me to delight in red wine once again, and resume my rapturous gaze into the glass I swirled in front of my nose.
It is lightweight, elegant looking and easy to pack. From now on – I won’t travel without my Üllo.
